Desktop Summit CFP announced and registration open

The CFP for the desktop Summit, which a joint GNOME and KDE Conference in Berlin, Germany, August 6-12 is now open. Excerpts from presentations are due by March 25. Registration for the Conference is now open. "GUADEC and aKademy of the world's largest gatherings of those involved with the free PC or notebook user interfaces are annually held in cities in Europe." Developer, artist, translator, community organizers, users and representatives of Government, education, and companies and others, have an interest shares are welcome. GNOME and KDE are free software communities, to which many Linux devices, from smart phones to laptops or personal Media Center user interface. This year, both communities have decided for the second time, to organize a single, Joint Conference. "We expect over a thousand participants, for both projects, as well as related technologies."
